Li Jue 李傕 was an officer who served Dong Zhuo 董卓 during the final years of the Later Han Dynasty. After his master's death he took over Chang'an and took control of the Emperor.
Biography
He took full command of Dong Zhuo's army when Lü Bu 呂布 assassinated Dong Zhuo. With the help of Dong Zhuo's other generals Fan Chou, Guo Si, and Zhang Ji, Li Jue managed to take control of ChangAn and secure himself with power within the Imperial Court.
When Li Jue, Fan Chou, Guo Si, and Zhang Ji had Emperor Xian in control, Li Jue was just like Dong Zhuo. He bullied him and scared the Emperor so the Emperor could give him titles such as General of the Chariots and Cavalry, Lord of Chiyang, Commandant of the Capital Districts.
Because of their tyranny against Emperor Xian, Han Sui and Ma Teng led a rebellion against them, however though, Li Jue listened to Jia Xu's advise to stayput and let the western army fall apart by starvation. Within a few months, Han Sui and Ma Teng's army had to retreat due to starvation.
Trouble began, when Li Jue and Guo Si began bickering over the issue of Guo Si's wife having an affair with Li Jue. They started fighting in the city killing many soldiers including civilians, their relationship eased when Li Jue received the rank of Regent General.
During Li Jue's later years, Cao Cao's army defeated him and Guo Si. Li Jue and Guo Si then escaped to the mountains and became bandits.
