Huang Shao and his men allied themselves with Yuan Shu 袁術 and Sun Jian 孫堅 with a horde of Yellow Turbans from Runan and Yingchuan to join up with them. They had a substantial group of men under their command (over 10.000). Cao Cao 曹操, however, attacked them and defeated them. Huang Shao, together with He Man, was executed.
- Liu Pi, He Yi, He Man and Huang Shao were not active in the 184 A.D. Yellow Turban Rebellion and are Yellow Turbans in name only. They were symphatic to their ideals and fought in their name. They never served under Zhang Jue 張角.
