Diāochán (貂蟬) is a soundfilm released in 1938. It was directed by Bu Wancang and produced by the Xinhua Film Company. Diaochan is played by Gu Lanjun 顧蘭君. The film is also known under the literal translation of 'Diaochan'; sable cicada.
Plot summary[]
When the reigning Chinese Han dynasty is threatened by the designing warlord Dong Zhuo, the beautiful Diaochan is sent forth from her sequestered life in her home to act upon her foster father Wang Yun's advice. Using her beauty Diaochan causes friction between Dong Zhuo and his mighty general Lü Bu.
