Chuguo xianxian zhuan 楚國先賢傳 (Accounts of Worthy Men of the Past of the Country of Chu) is a Chinese text written by Zhang Fang 張方,[1] and/or He Xiu 何休.

DescriptionEdit

The following is an excerpt from Rafe de Crespigny's The Records of the Three Kingdoms:[1]

"The Book of Sui mentions a Chuguo xianxian zhuan zan 贊, by Zhang Fang, which is 12 juan 卷 long. The New Book of Tang has a Chuguo xianxian zhuan, by Zhang Fang and also 12 juan long. The Old Book of Tang has a Chuguo xianxian ji in 12 juan by a certain Yang Fang 楊方. The name Yang 楊 is evidently miswritten, and though the title may have varied slightly, the work was compiled by Zhang Fang."

  1. 《楚國先賢傳》曰:余字子正,天姿方毅,志尚仁義,建安二十三年為郡功曹。是時吳、蜀不賔,疆埸多虞。宛將侯音扇動山民,保城以叛。余與太守東里衮當擾攘之際、迸竄得出。音即遣騎追逐,去城十里相及,賊便射衮,飛矢交流。余前以身當箭,被七創,因謂追賊曰:「侯音狂狡,造為凶逆,大軍尋至,誅夷在近。謂卿曹本是善人,素無惡心,當思反善,何為受其指揮?我以身代君,已被重創,若身死君全,隕沒無恨。」因仰天號哭泣涕,血淚俱下。賊見其義烈,釋衮不害。賊去之後,余亦命絕。征南將軍曹仁討平音,表余行狀,并脩祭醊。太祖聞之,嗟嘆良乆,下荊州復表門閭,賜穀千斛。衮後為于禁司馬,見《魏略》游說傳。

  1. 《楚國先賢傳》曰:曁臨終遺言曰:「夫俗奢者,示之以儉,儉則節之以禮。歷見前代送終過制,失之甚矣。若爾曹敬聽吾言,斂以時服,葬以土藏,穿畢便葬,送以瓦器,慎勿有增益。」又上疏曰:「生有益於民,死猶不害於民。況臣備位台司,在職日淺,未能宣揚聖德以廣益黎庶。寢疾彌留,奄即幽冥。方今百姓農務,不宜勞役,乞不令洛陽吏民供設喪具。懼國典有常,使臣私願不得展從,謹冒以聞,惟蒙哀許。」帝得表嗟歎,乃詔曰:「故司徒韓曁,積德履行,忠以立朝,至於黃髮,直亮不虧。旣登三事,望獲毗輔之助,如何奄忽,天命不永!曾參臨沒,易簀以禮;晏嬰尚儉,遣車降制。今司徒知命,遺言卹民,必欲崇約,可謂善始令終者也。其喪禮所設,皆如故事,勿有所闕。」時賜溫明祕器,衣一稱,五時朝服,玉具劒佩。

Book of Wu 3 - Biography of Sun XiuEdit

  1. 《楚國先賢傳》曰:石偉字公操,南郡人。少好學,脩節不怠,介然獨立,有不可奪之志。舉茂才、賢良方正,皆不就。孫休即位,特徵偉,累遷至光祿勳。及皓即位,朝政昏亂,偉乃辭老耄痼疾乞身,就拜光祿大夫。吳平,建威將軍王戎親詣偉。太康二年,詔曰:「吳故光祿大夫石偉,秉志清白,皓首不渝,難處危亂,廉節可紀。年已過邁,不堪遠涉,其以偉為議郎,加二千石秩,以終厥世。」偉遂陽狂及盲,不受晉爵。年八十三,太熈元年卒。
