In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Cao Cao was given the Seven Star Precious Sword by Wang Yun and attempted to assassinate Dong Zhuo with it. However, shortly after Cao Cao had drawn the sword, Lü Bu returned, waking Dong Zhuo up. Cao Cao quickly knelt down and pretended to present the sword to Dong Zhuo as a gift. Shortly after that, Cao Cao escaped.
